Artist Statment

As a visual artist and educator with a background in sociology, I use photography to examine the structures and systems that order contemporary life. My practice focuses on public spaces—environments deliberately designed to optimize efficiency, regulate behaviour, and minimize uncertainty.

Photography functions as both a conceptual tool and a visual language. Through it, I translate sociological inquiry into imagery, combining analytical observation with aesthetic precision. My process begins with theoretical research and extends into prolonged visual fieldwork, allowing me to critically engage with the social dynamics embedded in the spaces I photograph.

By revealing the subtle tensions and contradictions present in everyday environments, my work invites viewers to reflect on their own position within the systems that shape modern existence. Ultimately, I aim to create spaces for dialogue—where images become prompts for questioning the visible and invisible forces that govern how we live together.
