Artist Statment

With my background in sociology and as an educator, I use the photographic medium to research modern society. I observe social structures in public spaces. Structures that aim to make our society more effective and manageable in order to deal with uncertainties and risks.

Photography is my pen, paint and voice to express myself in an artistic visual language. My work method starts with theoretical research and visual observation to gain insight into the topic. By connecting to the theme on an emotional level, I use visual language to express my position on the subject.

Through artistic expression I make my discomfort visible to reclaim my power. My work is to create space for social dialogue to share our human perspective and experiences with these social systems in our modern society.
